Develop, create, and modify web-based applications for a leading airline's cargo division. The application is built in IBM Portal Server using Portlet Factory. The system would integrate with databases and web services to retrieve information. Developer must have strong technical skills as well as be a good communicator, organized, and self-starter. Looking for individuals who proactively solve problems and find the right person to answer a question. Needs to be willing to communicate with offshore resources.
Experienced in WebSphere Portlet Factory Version 6.1
Exposure to development of custom WebSphere Portlet factory builders
Skilled in Java, J2EE, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, DOJO, SOA, Web Services, WSDL.
Skilled in Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7+ WebSphere Portal Development
Education/Experience
o Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required
o 2-4 years experience required
Responsibility level
o Exercises moderate independent judgment with direction from supervisor
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
o Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
o Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
o Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
o Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications
o Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration
